Travel to Caucasus countries: Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan
South Caucasus is a mountainous region, which embraces the territory of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and is situated between the Black and Caspian Seas. Since ancient period it represented an important region of exceptional geopolitical significance playing the role of a connecting link between the countries of Orient and Occident where the ancient states of the world Urartu, Kolkhida and Caucasian Albania, existed in the IX-VI cc. BC. Caucasus Region with its mountainous and hilly places are beloved travel destination for adventure trekking and hiking lovers.


Day 1
arrival at Tbilisi airport, transfer and accommodation. After some rest starting route with a walk in multinational Abanotubani (district of sulphur baths) and Karvasla (Caravan-sarai), visit Narikala Fortress, Metekhi Church and the bridge, Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati basilica, walking at Shardeni Street and visit souvenir shops. Stay overnight in Tbilisi.
 
Day 2
on the way to Kazbegi visit City of Mtskheta: historical and architectural complex of Jvari, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, Samtavro Convent (4-11 cc.). Visit Ananuri church and via Cross Pass arrival in Stephantsminda, walk up to Gergeti Trinity Church with the beautiful views of Kazbegi mountain peak and the village. Continue to beautiful Dariali valley till the Russian border and drive to Gudauri for accommodation.

Day 3
departure to west Georgia: on the way visit antic town of Uplistsikhe and Stalin museum in Gori; excursion in Kutaisi one of the ancient cities of Georgia situated in Imereti region on the banks of the river Rioni where the river comes out of its narrow and quite deep gorge to Colchi Valley; visit Bagrati Temple and historic and architectural complex of Gelati, stay overnight in Kutaisi.
Day 4
Batumi sightseeing (ancient name: Bathus; a seaside city on the Black Sea coast): visit the port of Batumi, museum of history and archaeology, Gonio fortress and trekking to Batumi botanical garden. Evening walk to Seaside Park and stay overnight in Batumi.

Day 5
continue to Borjomi: visit history museum, The Saint George Chitakhevi Monastery founded in 9th century also called Green Monastery, tasting of Borjomi mineral spring water and stroll in the park, town view from the hill of Borjomi Plateau and amusement park. Overnight in Borjomi.
Day 6
visit Tmogvi castle located on 150 meter-high rock on the left bank of the Kura River, Khertvisi Fortress and continue to cave town Vardzia – 13th storey city cut out of solid rock. Cross the Armenian border and accommodation in Gyumri.
Day 7
continue tour to fortress of Garni (1st. c. BC) and Geghard monastery being partially carved out of the adjacent mountain and surrounded by cliffs. City tour of Yerevan and accommodation in Yerevan.
Day 8
drive to Khor Virap monastery located in the Ararat plain in Armenia, near the border with Turkey and 13th century Armenian apostolic church monastery Noravanq. Return to Yerevan.
Day 9
visit Matenadaran- institute of ancient manuscripts. Drive to Echmiadzin, Saint Hripsime Church (one of the oldest surviving churches in Armenia) and Zvartnots temple (641-661). Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 10
drive to Sevani lake, on the way visit Sevanavank monastery complex on the peninsula. Short walk at the Lake and check in at the hotel in Sevan.
Day 11
en route visit Alaverdi town, Odzun monastery, Sanahin and Haghpat monasteries, cross Georgian border and excursion in Bolnisi Sioni church where the check in at the hotel in Tbilisi.
Day 12
Drive to Kakheti: visit the cave-city and monastery complex of David Gareja via Udabno semi-desert, hike up to the top of the hill with beautiful landscapes of Georgian on the one side and Azerbaijan on the other side, visit Lavra (VI c.) and Udabno monasteries. Continue to the fortified city of Sighnaghi, visit History museum and Bodbe Monastery. Overnight in Signagi.
Day 13
continue to Azerbaijan, cross the border and excursion in Sheki: the History Museum, Sheky Khan’s Palace, local handicrafts workshops; Shebeke icons. Check in at the hotel in Sheki.
Day 14
drive from Sheki to Qabala-Shamakhi-Baku. Getting acquaintance with place of interest in Gabala, excursion to ethnographic museum, visit to ancient Alban-Chukhur Qabala. Visit to Diri Baba Mausoleum in Maraza, Seven Tombs in Shemakha. Check in at the hotel in Baku.

Day 15
have an excursion to Absheron peninsula: historical art reserve “Gobustan” & mud volcanoes. Trip to Fire Worshippers’ Temple - the most famous fire temple is the well-preserved temple Ateshgah ("the Fire Place") in Surakhany. Return to Baku.
 
Day 16
city tour in Baku: to visit the “Icheri Sheher” old town: Shemakha Gate, Maiden Tower, Shirvanshah's Palace. The Walled City of Baku with these architectural monuments is included in the World's Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. Visit museum of history, Carpet & applied Art Museum. Drive to Baku airport for departure.
