Vashlovani national  Park located in the eastern part of Georgia, in Dedoplistskaro region. The Protected Areas are located among the two the main rivers of Kakheti – Iori and Alazani. There are unique floodplain forest of Alazani and two little bays. This is the only place in Georgia with a such variety flora and fauna, about 700 plant species are described in Vashlovani. Fauna of it is also quite diverse and attractive. Vashlovani is a home to the great cliffs-of-the-canyons; it’s notable for its unique, bad-land-like areas of desert and semi-desert steppe vegetation and arid and deciduous forests. It is the only place in Georgia, where the forests grow on steppe soil, and in semi-desert conditions.
At the end of 2003 leopard (Panthera pardus ciscaucasica) was discovered in Vashlovani. The scientists managed to shoot the photos of this animal. He still inhabits the territory of Vashlovani. Vashlovani Protected Area gives possibility to the visitors to enjoy: hiking/ nature trails, Bird watching, Mountain biking, Fishing/ angling.

Visitors can enjoy hiking or horse riding for the following routes:

1. Hiking Trip  ,,Eagle Canion’’ car route combined with  pedestrian
Route length and duration – 1 day; 4- 5 km;
Route begins from the limestone rocks, where you can see the rare endemic plant Campanula Kachethica. Eagle’s canyon is home many exceptionally beautiful birds, among them- the Pheasant and Black Stork. Tourist has a possibility to see “khornabuji” castle (V.c) one of the beautiful historical monuments on the protected areas.

2. Hiking Trip  ,,Pantishara-Bear Canyon’’– car route combined with   pedestrian
Route length and duration - 1 day; 130 km;
On route one can see the Southern Elephant fossilized bones. (The largest is the shoulder blade; it reaches 87 centimetres and dated 2 000 000 years) Then Gazelles rouming the steppes  and fields.

3. Driving route “TAKHTI-TEPA”
Route length and duration - 1 day; 110 km;
Takhti-tepa monument is remarkably unique in Georgia. The volcano is a whitish plane hill that bubbles and throbs.
 
4. Driving trip –,, Mijniskure’’,, Black Mountain’’
Route length and duration - 2 days; 220 km;
On route tourists can see the Southern Elephant fossilized bones. Also one can see “House Martins” town, where they have built their own town in the rocks, marine molluscs, which confirmed, that this area was still covered by the sea.
